Woodland Ridge Boulevard’s carefully landscaped front yards are now filled with discarded furniture and sections of dry wall. The prominent private school, however, remained largely dry.
On Wednesday, the school’s iron gates were closed so it was difficult to see the extent of damage.
Later in the day, the school announced online that grades 1-4 will return to school Aug.
The damage is so severe, Llorens said, that Cristo Rey is quickly lining up a temporary location to hold school while the Redemptorist campus is repaired and the school figures out its future plans.
Rowe is a member of the school’s board and a representative of the Franciscan Ministries of Our Lady, the religious order sponsoring Cristo Rey in Baton Rouge.
Even in the lower school, water hit some spots but not others.
